Knox, the British company best known for MX and armoured clothing, have introduced a new range of jackets designed to be worn on and off the bike, which could be perfect for long distance riding. The outer jackets have been styled and tailored to wear every day without integral bulky armour, but when it’s time to ride, each jacket features an innovative dual fit zip system, which changes the fit in the arms and body so that an armoured shirt, quilt or a mid layer can be worn comfortably beneath making it a perfect functioning motorcycle jacket.
When travelling in many parts of the world, the desire can be to blend in, or at least to look a little less like an alien, in the Hollywood sense and this new range may just fit the bill. Style is a major part of these jackets and we are yet to actually get our hands on one to try it for function, but they seem to be more Beckham than Boorman.
Knox thermal quilted jackets and mid layers can also be worn as liners or as jackets in their own right which again is useful when living out of panniers. Off the bike, remove the armoured layer, close the underarm zip system and the outer jacket is ready to wear for everyday life. The system makes a seamless transition between life on and off the bike and answers the trend for more fitted stylish clothing for both men and women.
The whole collection features textile and wax jackets, all of which are waterproof, using a 10k waterproof/breathable membrane that is laminated onto the back of the fabric.
