CONTINENTAL TKC70 ROCKS TYRE NEWS

Finest 60/40 dual tyres? Our super-sleuth Derek Mansfield searched the recent London Motorcycle show for the truth about tyres.

Launched to the public for 2020 is a new version of Continental’s sublime TKC70 – ready to take us even further off-road with increased safety provided by a new tread pattern.
Your less than intrepid “off-road only when he can’t avoid it” rider/reporter pounced on Graham Matcham, Conti’s UK Brand Manager, at the Excel London Motorcycle Show asking “Wassup?”
Knowing that I’m a long-time and ardent advocate of TKC70 tyres, and so as not to waste too much of his time, Graham thrust a leaflet in my hand and pointed to the admirably named TKC70 ROCKS.
Hmmm, black, round and with an unmistakably new tread pattern, I was assured the tyres retained the smooth handling and even quieter on-road ride of the original TKC70 with more off-road traction and improved grip in the wet… a new “Rain Grip” compound developed for this latter.
I should just add that the original pattern TKC 70’s I’m currently running on my Guzzi V7 Classic have covered in excess of 10,000 miles across Europe and the more interesting road surfaces of Asia’s steppe; they still look good for another two to three thousand miles.
So, until I can persuade Graham to set up a test ride for me, here’s Conti’s charming promo video.
