GlobeBusters are introducing a series of two-week long fly-ride adventures designed for motorcyclists who do not have enough time for a full expedition, but still want to experience amazing journeys to unusual destinations.
The first of these adventures takes in three South American countries – Chile, Bolivia and Peru – riding 4000 metres up into the Andes. Combining routes from their Trans Americas & High Andes Expeditions, the itinerary provides plenty of time in the saddle as well as allowing opportunities to explore this incredible region.
Riding primarily over paved roads and covering 2085 miles, the route is suitable for most experienced motorcyclists. Starting from the desert city of Arica in Northern Chile, the tour climbs high into the Andes Mountains and Bolivia. Then it crosses the salt flats of Altiplano ‘high plains’, before following the shores of Lake Titicaca and descending to the ancient city of Cusco. There is a full day to visit the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, South America’s most iconic landmark, followed by the ultimate Andean ride. Voted “one of the best riding roads in the world” by GlobeBusters’ customers, it twists and turns from Cusco down to the Nasca Desert. The final night is spent in the colonial city of Arequipa.
Departing from Arica in Northern Chile on 14th September and returning on 29th, bed & breakfast accommodation, bike hire, motorcycle leader, dedicated support vehicle and airport transfers are all included. Prices vary depending on choice of bike for hire (BMW G650GS, F800GS, R1200GS or Adventure) and start at £4,295 for the BMW G650GS.
