Jacqui Furneaux was mortified when she recently lost her trusty Tucano Urbano jacket while riding in Australia, but now back in the UK she’s realised her misfortune was just an opportunity to try a new jacket in the Italian manufacturer’s range.
The Urbana 5G is another offering for ladies that isn’t pink and doesn’t scream ‘biker’, but instead exudes subtle style and can be worn as comfortably on and off the bike.
Jacqui said “I may use my bike to ride all over the world, but when I’m not on it I like to blend in and it’s the stylish understatement of these Tucano Urbano products that I really like.”
The fit is neat and the build quality looks good. It’s waterproof, with a huge array of pockets inside and out and carries D30 armour in the elbows, shoulders and back, which is all conventional enough. However, the reflective material on the sleeves and collar can be folded away when not in use, and the internal gilet or bodywarmer can be used separately, which mark this jacket out. Then there’s the fur-lined collar…
What matters is that Jacqui will be putting this Urbana 5G jacket through its paces around the UK in all weathers and across Europe on a forthcoming trip. We’ll then be able to report on just how well it performs.
RRP is £199 and it’s available in black as pictured, and in red. Click here for list of stockists.
