So there’s a lockdown just now and you won’t be riding your bike for anything other than essential journeys, but even going out for a walk you may want to be wearing something as good looking as Tucano Urbano’s latest leather jacket. I’m certainly hoping for any opportunity to test it.
The RIVS jacket is simple in appearance, even if weird in name, but packs a host of innovative features. Available in black leather only, but beautifully soft, this jacket oozes Italian design to update a classic theme. Stretch panels have been inserted at either side of the back to create a perfect fit no matter your riding position, and for added comfort in colder conditions, there’s a detachable vest inside, which is quilted with thermal polyester padding. The vest’s collar comes up to fit snuggly around the neck to keep out that evening or early morning chill. That’s what makes this jacket even more flexible, and is the bit I like best.
Fully CE-Class A approved to provide protection against abrasion and impact, this goat leather jacket has both shoulder and elbow armour, plus a pocket for a back protector.
It’s just one item from the new range the Milan-based manufacturer has released ahead of the summer.
“We’ve got loads of new additions to our line-up this year, and all of them are a reflection of the typical Italian style and quality that our customers have come to expect from Tucano Urbano,” said Rachel Fuller, Tucano Urbano UK Country Manager. “Leading our collection this year are the new, ultra-soft leather jackets – they’re smart, stylish and super easy to wear whilst riding or even off the bike – a staple that every rider should have in their wardrobe.”
