‘All the Gear, no Idea’ by Michele Harrison

A year spent riding an Enfield round the Indian sub-continent in the second half of the 1990s, this tale of one solo woman’s experience of learning on the job is really well written. One to read even if you’ve only a passing interest in this part of the world.
