We’ve not had any reports yet of someone using a new CB500X for overlanding, but Skidmarx have decided to get ahead of the game and have developed a range of bodywork accessories for Honda’s new adventure-style bike.
Manufactured in their Wessex factory, the tall screen, headlight cover and aerofoils are designed specifically for the CB500X. The rear hugger, which can help protect the shock, fits all the bikes in the CB500 range.
Made from 3mm acrylic and 10cm (4 inches) taller than the standard, the tall screen offers additional protection from wind and weather. Available in Clear and Light or Dark Grey tints, it retails for £59.95 and uses existing mounting points and fasteners, so the height adjustment function is retained.
For those gravel roads where passing trucks throw stones, matching headlight covers are available for £19.95 and are fitted using 3M™ Dual Lock™ fixing pads that are included.
Designed to fill the gap between the screen and bodywork, aerofoils deflect wind and weather away from the rider and Skidmarx offer a choice of clear, light and dark tinted versions, supplied complete with fitting kit for £49.95.
Styled to enhance the look of the middleweight Honda, whilst offering under-body, shock and linkage protection, Skidmarx rear huggers are produced in both GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic) and ultra light carbon fibre options. Supplied with a tailor made fitting kit that bolts directly to existing mounting points, the CB500 hugger sells for £79.95 in GRP or £139.95 in carbon fibre.
